Vishwakarma Jayanti is a day of celebration for Lord Vishwakarma, a Hindu god and the divine architect. It is said that he constructed the holy city of Dwarka where krishna ruled and the palace of Indraprastha for the Pandavas. In Rig Veda he’s been credited with Sthapatya Veda i.e. the science of mechanics architecture.
It’s been celebrated in different parts of India followed by few neighboring countries like bangladesh and Nepal. Most of the engineering colleges of North & North-east India also celebrate this day. This day all the vehicles and mechanical tools or weapons are been cleaned and blessings of Lord Vishwakarma are showered on them.
