
Pride of the State – Dr. Sandeep Dattatray Warge Honored with Honorary Doctorate
Inspiring Contributions to Innovation in Education, Social Work, and Student Advancement
Bureau (Faridabad) – Dr. Sandeep Dattatray Warge, an assistant teacher at the Zilla Parishad School in Hatale, Raigad district, Maharashtra, has been honored with an honorary doctorate by the Magic Book of Record Foundation, Haryana, for his significant contributions to the field of education. This prestigious recognition was awarded for his remarkable efforts in involving students in a National satellite mission building and launching, as well as for his innovative use of technology in education.

With over 30 years of teaching experience, Dr. Varge has transformed the infrastructure of Hatale school since his transfer there. He has introduced a science laboratory, library, online Labs, and smart learning tools like laptops for students. Notably, his initiative to establish the first digital school for tribal students has become a model for the entire region.
Recognizing his inspiring work, the Government of Maharashtra awarded him the Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule State Teacher Award on 5th September 2023, presented by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Following this, he received several other honors such as the India Star Independent Award 2024, Bharat Vibhushan Award 2023, London Book of World Records recognition, and the Raigad Zilla Parishad Ideal Teacher Award 2019-20.
Dr. Warge’s contributions to social causes are equally commendable. As the Konkan Regional Coordinator for the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam International Foundation, Rameswaram, facilitated the participation of 20 students in satellite projects, earning them international certifications. In his role as Regional Secretary of the Lions Club, he has supported underprivileged students by distributing school supplies and bicycles, and organizing eye check-ups, health camps, and blood donation drives.
Moreover, he authored a book on Karuna – Maharashtra’s pioneering mathematician and revered guru – reviving the memory of this forgotten historical figure.
Currently, Dr. Varge serves as the State Vice President of the Raigad District Ideal Teachers’ Association and as the Konkan Regional President of the National/State Awarded Teachers’ Association.
